Ladies, where do you fit in?
West Seventh congregation needs you! Whatever your talents or interests, there is a place for you. Listed below are a few of the current programs of work in which you can choose to take part. Or, maybe you have a new idea to share!
Every young man and woman who is a member at West Seventh or who grew up in this congregation and whose parents still attend here is honored with a bridal tea by the ladies at West Seventh Street. Teas are usually held from 2:00-3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. Responsibilities are assigned for the tea so that no one person feels the burden of having to do it all. We welcome anyone who would like to help and any new ideas you might like to share for ways to honor brides. If there is a particular bride you want to help honor at a tea, we are always glad for you to help.

West Seventh members love to fellowship with each other and any visitors that come our way. Our fellowship meals include the entire congregation and range from 300-500 people depending on how many attend.
Ways you can serve:
- Make your favorite dish(es) to bring to the potluck meal.
- Volunteer to help with the meal setup by collecting food from members as they arrive, placing food in refrigerators or warming ovens, and placing food on tables immediately before the meal begins.
- Cleanup: clean the kitchen and fellowship area.
At present, three couples work with this ministry on a regular basis and many more members serve as needed.

Join us in preparing meals for families and individuals who are suffering with illness, hospitalization, and bereavement. If you will fill out one of the "Food Ministry" forms, you will be called (usually every other month or sometimes less often), to help prepare a meal for someone. There are several options from which you may choose to participate. You are given ample notice to prepare the meal. You will be reminded of the date before your are scheduled to deliver the meal, given directions to the home, food likes and dislikes, and any special needs that must be considered. This act of kindness is very rewarding and greatly appreciated by those you serve.

A shower is given for all West Seventh families to welcome their first baby born into the family. Ladies who wish to help in this ministry are divided into groups. The groups rotate the responsibilities of hosting the baby showers. Showers are usually given on Sunday afternoons. Due to the large number of ladies that participate, it does not require a lot of anyone's time. Generally a group is only called on once a year or less. If you are looking for a ministry that requires minimal time commitment, but gives great rewards to its participants, this ministry is for you.

Food for New Moms
Helping families when a new baby arrives home is a rewarding ministry that is greatly appreciated by moms. The coordinator contacts new moms to work out a schedule of times meals can be brought, find out any dietary restrictions, and determine how long the family will need meals. She then contacts members of this group to help prepare and deliver the meals to the family. Again, this does not require a great deal of any one person's time, but is a much needed lifesaver for a tired mommy of a new baby!

In past years, West Seventh ladies have hosted an annual retreat. This has been a time of refreshing and spiritual renewal. Many ladies have worked over the years to host and coordinate this event. This is an event we would like to see happen again. If you have an interest in this, please talk with someone on the Women's Ministry Committee.
Women's Holiday Gift Gala
The date for this annual event is usually set for the month of December. This is always a fun-filled evening of fellowship and gift sharing. Ladies are served a delicious catered meal at tables beautifully decorated for the holiday season by many of the ladies who attend. Gifts are also provided by the guests to be shared with our homebound and those in need.
